This four ingredient Irish Soda Bread is one of the fastest, easiest bread recipes ever and it is so good! You are only four ingredients and a few minutes away from eating this bread. As with most breads, it’s best straight from the oven with butter, but that’s just my opinion.
I have been experimenting with so many bread recipes during our recent quarantine. I don’t know why bread, but that just seems to be the thing lately. I’ve made complicated recipes and super easy ones and this one is definitely a keeper. I made the most basic form, but you can add currants, raisins, or even fresh herbs to this wonderfully simple recipe. By the way, it’s called “soda” bread because it’s made with baking soda and not yeast.
You’ll need: 4 c all purpose flour, 1 t salt, 1 t baking soda, and 1-1 1/2 c buttermilk. That’s it!
Preheat the oven to 425. Whisk together the flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl. Slowly add the buttermilk and mix well. The dough is kinda weird and shaggy looking. Lightly spray or butter a loaf pan and spread the dough evenly.

As you can see it’s not the most picture perfect bread, but it really is so good and so easy to make! Spread anything you like on this warm bread and enjoy!
