What kitchen tools do you use the most? I use these or at least a combination of these pretty much every day. These tools are my essentials!
- My favorite Garlic press. (Pampered Chef) I use this little tool almost every day. It makes adding freshly minced garlic so easy. It comes with a tool for easy cleaning and it’s not expensive! All you do is place your whole unpeeled garlic clove in and press to release minced garlic. Then you use the small tool to lift out the peel and skin. It’s also dishwasher safe! https://www.pamperedchef.com/pws/mtedeschi/shop/Favorites/Favorites/Garlic+Press/2576.
- Cast Iron Skillet I own my mother’s old cast iron skillet. I don’t even actually know how old it is, but it is perfectly seasoned. I use it for everything from cornbread and biscuits, to meats and fritattas. There’s nothing like a good cast iron skillet. Just remember to only wipe it out with a wet cloth and some coarse salt if you need to scrub it – no soap.
- A really great knife. I know that there are so many great knives out there and everyone needs at least one really great knife. I have several knives, but I really love my Zwilling J.A. Henckel’s 7 inch Chef’s knife. I just love the way this knife feels and the way it cuts and I use it every day.
- Stock Pot I use my big stock pot mostly for cooking large amounts of pasta (so that the pasta isn’t crowded and doesn’t stick together) and for making soups and stews, which I do A LOT in the fall and winter.
- Dutch Oven. There are just so many uses for a Dutch oven. I use mine to bake bread, to braise meat, to make soups and stews, and even as a serving dish. There are unlimited options and price ranges out there. I’m really loving my Lodge Cast Iron 7.5 quart one right now. If you don’t often feed a lot of people, you could definitely get a smaller version. This is a great investment and a versatile item to have in your kitchen.
