Delicious English Muffin Bread

English muffin bread is the perfect texture for holding lots of butter or any spread that you prefer. It’s great for breakfast, but also any time of the day.

I found this recipe on Pinterest several years ago and I absolutely love the texture of it. If you enjoy english muffins, then you are going to love this bread. And the best part is that it’s very very easy to make! There’s no kneading involved and you only need to let it rise once.

I have tried so many spreads on this bread – butter, apple butter, peanut butter, Nutella, cream cheese and more. I love how few ingredients it is and that it also freezes well.

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 3/4 c warm water
  • 1 1/2 pkgs rapid rise yeast
  • 1 T salt
  • 1 1/2 T sugar
  • 5 1/2 c flour

Are you ready for how easy this is to make? First of all, make sure the water is lukewarm. It has to be warm, but if it’s too hot, it can kill the yeast. Now, put everything into a large bowl and mix until it’s thoroughly combined. Then divide the dough in half and put it into two loaf pans (mine are 9.5 x 5 inch) that have been lightly sprayed with baking spray.

Let the dough rise until it’s slightly above the top of the pan. This will take an hour or so. When the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 350. Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown on top.

It’s best to let it cool completely before cutting.

I recommend toasting this bread for the full experience. It really does have the porous texture of an english muffin, which makes it perfect for spreads. You can also top it with eggs for some good protein. Really, just anything your heart desires.
