These Thanksgiving Turkey sliders are a delicious way to get rid of some of your leftovers. Get creative with whatever you want to add to them!
It’s time for the Macy’s parade, the turkey, lots of family time, going to get the Christmas tree, and lots of leftovers. I love it all so very much.
I love leftover turkey sandwiches. In fact, I love all the Thanksgiving food leftovers. This recipe is just a little more elevated than just a turkey sandwich and also uses more leftovers than just the turkey!
Start with these things and then add other things if you want:
- 1 pkg Hawaiian rolls (I used the Hawaiian slider rolls)
- leftover turkey
- Swiss or Provolone cheese
- Cranberry sauce or spread (could also use raspberry spread or jam)
- 2 T butter
- 1 T Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 t ground sage
- 1/2 t garlic powder
- optional ingredients: mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy for dipping
Take the tops off the rolls and put them on a baking sheet. Cover all the rolls with cheese slices. Just cover the whole area – don’t worry about putting them on each individual roll. You want there to be an abundance of everything all over.
Then spread a thin layer of jam or cranberry sauce over all the cheese.
Next, pile on the turkey. Again, don’t skimp. Make these sandwiches full and hearty! At this point, you could add a layer of dressing (or stuffing), or mashed potatoes – really anything you want.
Add another layer of cheese at this point if you want.
Melt 2 T butter in a small bowl, then stir in garlic powder, sage and Worcestershire sauce. Brush this mixture on top of the rolls.
Cover the sandwiches in foil and bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melty and the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
Gather your people around and eat these while watching a Christmas movie. It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
