Southern Style Chocolate Gravy

Southern style chocolate gravy over biscuits is truly a sweet and salty treat. Add it to your breakfast or brunch menu ASAP!

I first had chocolate gravy at my aunt and uncle’s house. It was life changing. Sweet and salty is my jam and this dish just checks that box perfectly. It’s so easy to make and everyone loves it.

You’ll need:

  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 1/4 c cocoa powder
  • 3 T all purpose flour
  • 2 c milk
  • 1 T butter, softened
  • 2 t vanilla extract

Whisk sugar, cocoa and flour together until fully incorporated and it has no lumps.

Pour in the milk and whisk until combined.

Transfer to a saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until it thickens to a gravy consistency. This take about 7-10 minutes.

Serve over hot biscuits.
