This roasted red pepper spread is so versatile and takes five minutes to make! Use it as a dip, spread on sandwiches or even as a pasta sauce.
Roasted red peppers are a staple in Italian food. It’s pretty easy to do it yourself, but for this recipe, I bought a jar all ready to go. If you buy a jar ready to go, you can literally make this in five minutes! It’s a perfect appetizer to serve with crackers or veggies or small pieces of bread.
I have tossed hot pasta into this as well and it’s magical. It makes a creamy, super flavorful pasta dish.
You’ll need:
- a blender or food processor
- 1 cup roasted red peppers
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 1/2 t dried basil
- 1/4 t red pepper flakes
- 1 t lemon juice
Place all the ingredients into a blender or food processor. Process until you have the texture/smoothness that you want. I like to make it pretty smooth. That’s it! It’s ready to use however you want. However, I will say that leaving it in the fridge for an hour or so will let the flavors blend together even more and it just gets better
This is such a perfect last minute party appetizer. Just serve with a variety of raw veggies and an assortment of crackers.
